£145m price tag looms as Barcola nears Liverpool deal
Bradley Barcola is valued at around £145m and is close to finalising personal terms with Liverpool, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano. The 23‑year‑old French international has signalled a desire to join the Champions League holders, and the deal appears to be progressing rapidly.
Barcola's move draws Liverpool interest
Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, said Barcola’s face “speaks for itself” after a night in which he did not feature for Paris Saint‑Germain. He added that the winger “wants to go to Liverpool” and that “the personal terms are almost in place”. Barcola’s potential exit comes as Liverpool have already bolstered their attack with Victor Munoz from Osasuna.
Liverpool face the new season without Mohamed Salah, who left on a free transfer to Turkish side Trabzonspor. The club therefore need a long‑term replacement for the departing legend, and fans hope Barcola could fill those boots.
Clubs interested in the French international will have to stump up the money, as the Champions League holders value their attacker around the £145m mark. The high price reflects both Barcola’s talent and the market’s inflationary trend.
Quotes highlight uncertain future
“We’re working calmly, we don’t talk too much. I can’t say whether he will leave or not … Today, he is a PSG player. We’ll see,” said Paris Saint‑Germain chairman Nasser Al‑Khelaifi on Canal Plus after the club’s 2‑1 UEFA Super Cup win over Aston Villa.
Romano observed, “If you look at Bradley Barcola, probably the story of the night in terms of transfers, is about the French winger because Barcola was not playing one single minute for Paris Saint‑Germain.” He noted Barcola’s body language suggested he was “almost not even celebrating”.
Barcola was an unused substitute in Wednesday evening’s Super Cup final, and his subdued reaction fueled speculation about a move away from Paris Saint‑Germain.
