Kays El Mouttaqui scores hat-trick, then sent off in U15 final

🇫🇷

Kays El Mouttaqui scored a hat‑trick for Olympique de Marseille U15 side in the Mediterranean Cup final. Marseille defeated Olympique Rovenain 5‑2.

The three goals came as part of Marseille’s five‑goal haul, underlining El Mouttaqui’s impact on the match. His contribution accounted for more than half of the team’s tally.

During the second half he received a red card and was expelled from the game. The dismissal prevented him from completing the final.

Because of his expulsion, El Mouttaqui missed the trophy presentation ceremony. He was not on the podium when Marseille lifted the cup.

After the match he left the tournament early together with his father, former professional Medhi Benatia. Their departure occurred before the official closing events.

The incident cast a shadow over an otherwise dominant performance by Marseille’s youth team. The victory, however, still secured the Mediterranean Cup title.
