Moroccan fan's Geert Wilders shirt sparks viral buzz before World Cup
In the bustling streets of Monterrey, a Moroccan supporter drew cameras’ attention by wearing a shirt emblazoned with the name of PVV‑leader and Dutch politician Geert Wilders, just hours before the Netherlands‑Morocco World Cup round‑of‑32 match at Estadio BBVA. The fan’s playful chant and declaration that Wilders was his biggest fan amplified the spectacle.
The Oranje‑march, a fan procession that leads supporters to the stadium, featured the shirt. When asked, the fan told De camera, “I have Wilders on my shirt, he is my biggest fan.”
He then shouted, “Geert Wilders, I love you!” while dancing through the march, adding his prediction that the match would end 2‑1 in Morocco’s favour.
