Inter's Solet pursuit stalls as Udinese holds firm on €30m price

🇮🇹

Inter Milan’s pursuit of Udinese defender Oumar Solet has stalled, with Fabrizio Romano reporting ten days of zero contact as the clubs clash over a €30 million valuation gap and a €2.5 million loan‑plus‑obligation structure. The Italian side prefers a prestito oneroso with an easily triggered obbligo di riscatto, while Udinese insists on a straight sale.

Inter’s opening offer sits at €17–18 million plus bonuses, whereas Udinese’s internal benchmark is €25 million and its asking price edges toward €30 million. A middle ground of €23–25 million has been floated but no movement has occurred.

Udinese has issued a firm ‘no’ to the loan‑plus‑obligation formula, describing it as a secco refusal to any straight loan arrangement. Solet arrived as a free agent from RB Salzburg, meaning any sale would be pure profit for the Friulian club.

Oumar Solet has given Inter total priority, setting aside a serious approach from a major Bundesliga club that was not Bayern. His agents, who also represent Hakan Çalhanoğlu, aligned personal terms with Inter early, leaving only the club‑to‑club deal as the obstacle.

Udinese coach Kosta Runjaic publicly declared “Solet rimane qui” and called the matter closed, while also weighing a contract extension for the defender if he remains beyond the transfer window. That leverage reduces Udinese’s urgency to sell.

Inter have linked Solet with a broader defensive rebuild under Cristian Chivu, identifying him among other targets to reinvent the backline. Observers expect the Nerazzurri to reassess the situation around Chivu’s mid‑July training camp when squad gaps sharpen.
