Go Ahead Eagles receive no encouragement bonuses before NEC clash
Go Ahead Eagles confirmed they did not receive any "encouragement bonuses" ahead of their final Eredivisie match against NEC, coach Melvin Boel said.
Boel told the newspaper De Stentor that the club had not been offered any such incentives as the season draws to a close.
The Eagles are already out of the race for the championship and have secured their place in the top division, eliminating any chance of relegation.
Despite the lack of title or survival pressure, Boel noted that the team can still play a decisive role in the contest for third place.
The upcoming fixture against NEC will be the last competitive game of the campaign, giving the club an opportunity to influence the final standings.
Boel emphasized that the focus will be on the match itself, without reliance on external financial motivations.
