Tsygankov Directe reinforcement: Ajax reunite with Míchel favourite
Ajax have announced the Tsygankov Directe signing of 28‑year‑old Ukrainian winger Viktor Tsygankov from Girona, sealing a three‑year deal that runs until the summer of 2029 and reuniting manager Míchel Sánchez with a former player. The Amsterdammers hope his experience will boost the squad immediately.
Contract and financial details
The Ajax-transfer has been the subject of summer speculation, with the 28‑year‑old Oekraïner eager to leave the relegated Girona. He completed his move at the Johan Cruijff Arena, signing a three‑year contract that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2029.
Reportedly Ajax are paying a relatively low fee, as Girona retains a share of the future transfer rights. This arrangement allows the Spanish side to benefit from any subsequent move involving Tsygankov.

Voor Míchel Sánchez this signing marks a reunion with a player he previously coached between 2023 and 2026. Tsygankov joins a list of former Spanish‑trained players who have moved to Ajax under the Dutch manager.
