Torino eye €20m loan for Brighton outcast Ferguson
Torino are preparing a loan move for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, potentially for a fee of around €20 million, to give the Irish forward a second chance in Serie A. The deal would see Ferguson return to Italy after a disappointing loan spell at Roma.
According to calciomercato.com, which cited La Stampa, the Granata have already contacted Ferguson’s representatives to discuss the feasibility of a loan with Brighton. The club’s officials are evaluating the terms before any formal agreement is reached.
Torino’s interest is driven by uncertainty in their attacking line‑up, with Ché Adams still on the market. Additionally, the fitness of Duván Zapata remains a persistent doubt, prompting the Granata to consider Ferguson as a reinforcement.
Ferguson spent the 2024‑25 season on loan at AS Roma, making 22 appearances and scoring five goals, three of which came in Serie A. His campaign was cut short by ankle surgery in the spring, ending his season prematurely.

Brighton have indicated they are willing to move the Republic of Ireland international on, preferring another loan to secure regular playing time for him. Roma originally held a buy‑option of about €40 million but chose not to exercise it, and after the injury‑hit season the valuation could be roughly halved to €20 million.
If the loan proceeds, Torino would add depth to coach Abate’s attack while giving Ferguson the platform to revive his career. For Brighton, the arrangement would free up a squad member who no longer fits into first‑team plans.
