Tanguy Nianzou nears Lille return as medical looms

🇫🇷 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Lille OSC have reached an agreement to sign Sevilla’s Tanguy Nianzou (24), according to a report. The French defender is now set to return to France after his time in Spain. Nianzou is scheduled to undergo a medical with Les Dogues next.

Tanguy Nianzou began his career at Paris Saint-Germain before joining Bayern Munich in the summer of 2020. His move to Germany followed the expiration of his contract with PSG. Nianzou’s spell in Munich was hampered by injuries, limiting him to 28 appearances. He scored once and provided one assist during his time in Germany.

Nianzou left Bayern Munich in 2022 to join Sevilla. His time in Spain was also affected by fitness issues, restricting him to 62 appearances over four seasons. The recurring physical problems prevented him from regaining his peak form.

An agreement between Lille and Sevilla has now been finalised. Sevilla, facing financial constraints, were eager to complete the deal to lower their wage expenditure. The financial terms of the transfer remain undisclosed.

The move offers Nianzou a fresh opportunity in French football. Lille, who have agreed the deal, will now await the outcome of his medical before finalising his contract.
