Roma push for Milan’s Christopher Nkunku as Gasperini intensifies pursuit

Serie A club Roma have opened talks with AC Milan for Frenchman Christopher Nkunku, with manager Gian Piero Gasperini showing keen interest. The Giallorossi’s pursuit follows an attempt to secure the attacker as part of their hunt for major signings this.

Daniele Longo reported that Roma and Milan enjoy an excellent working relationship, which could allow player exchanges this summer.

Gian Piero Gasperini is a fan of Nkunku’s profile and has formally requested his signature. Sporting director Tony D’Amico has stepped forward for the Frenchman, contacting Milan with several deal proposals.

Gasperini had also targeted the attacker last January and is said to be obsessed with his profile.

Milan have so far rejected Roma’s advances, while Ruben Amorim’s side believe the Frenchman will become an important player for them next season.

Even if Milan were open to a sale, Roma’s move would be complex, requiring a significant fee and likely a loan, which Milan may resist as they prefer to cut losses after last season’s failures.
