Manchester City chase Gakpo and Ndiaye as deadline looms

Manchester City are racing to bolster their attack with just THREE days remaining in the August transfer window, eyeing Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo and Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye as potential signings.

Liverpool have made clear they need two additional forwards before they would consider letting Cody Gakpo depart, insisting any offer would have to be substantial. The Dutch international started Saturday’s Premier League clash at home to Nottingham Forest, yet no official approach has reached Liverpool from either City or Tottenham.

Tottenham remain in the race for Gakpo, keeping the competition tight as the deadline approaches.

Ndiyaye’s price tag and contract

Iliman Ndiaye, 26, has three years left on his Everton contract and has turned down a new deal, prompting the Toffees to set a high asking price. Reported fees range between 80 million and 100 million, with figures quoted at £80 million, €85 million, €90 million, €93 million and up to €100 million.

Arsenal and Tottenham have also shown interest, while Manchester City may involve Jack Grealish in a potential swap, according to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs.

City are also monitoring Enzo Fernandez’s situation at Chelsea, though no contact has been made yet.

With the window closing in three days, Manchester City must decide quickly whether to meet the reported price range for Ndiaye and secure Gakpo before rivals intervene.
