Liverpool's midfield gap could be filled by Camavinga

Liverpool’s midfield under Andoni Iraola lacks a player who can combine intensity, intelligence and bravery, a gap the club hopes to fill this summer. The Anfield side have turned their attention to 23‑year‑old French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, whom Real Madrid are prepared to sell for about €60 million.

Liverpool have approached Real Madrid to discuss Camavinga’s future. The Frenchman has already been deployed as a left‑back, a midfield disruptor and a utility player in a star‑filled squad.

Real Madrid are reportedly willing to let Camavinga leave for around €60 million. Since arriving at the Bernabéu, he has gathered experience, honours and injuries, alternating between being touted as the future engine room and being shuffled across roles.

Camavinga himself has indicated he is not contemplating a move this summer. He is said to have instructed his agents to ignore any offers. He believes he can improve his standing under José Mourinho at Real Madrid.

Iraola’s system demands intensity, intelligence and bravery in possession, traits Camavinga possesses through his pressing, glide under pressure and coverage of ground. Liverpool seek not just bodies but players who can raise the squad’s ceiling, and Camavinga matches that profile.

The transfer will hinge on whether Camavinga’s resolve softens and Real Madrid’s openness translates into a concrete offer. Until then, the French midfielder remains a watchlist name for Liverpool’s summer plans.
