Liverpool chase Endrick as Barcola leaves right wing gap

Liverpool chase Endrick as Barcola leaves right wing gap

Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel that Liverpool have moved for Real Madrid’s left‑footed forward Endrick, while the club have already completed the £120 million signing of 23‑year‑old French winger Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint‑Germain, a priority target all summer.

Right‑wing vacancy after Salah

Mohamed Salah’s move to Trabzonspor has left Andoni Iraola’s squad with a glaring hole on the right flank. The departure means Liverpool are STILL without a natural high‑quality right winger despite bolstering other attacking areas. The club’s 2024/25 Premier League title win has not solved that specific need.

Bradley Barcola, the 23‑year‑old France international, prefers to operate on the left wing. Richard Hughes secured his signature from Paris Saint‑Germain for a fee that could rise above £120 million. The deal satisfies Liverpool’s desire for a versatile attacker but does not address the right‑wing deficit.

Liverpool have also eyed Brazil‑born Endrick, the 20‑year‑old Real Madrid forward, as a possible solution. Endrick has fallen down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho, with new signings Yan Diomande and Carlos Espi arriving. Other names mentioned include Ismaila Sarr and Yankuba Minteh, while Ibrahim Mbaye’s move to Aston Villa ended his pursuit.

Endrick: a dual‑position solution

Romano confirmed that Liverpool entered talks with Real Madrid to sign the left‑footed attacker, hoping he could cover both centre‑forward and right‑wing roles. The club’s approach was rebuffed, with Los Blancos telling Liverpool “no”, forcing the Reds to consider alternative forward options. A short‑term deal with a purchase option was suggested as a pragmatic route.

Salah’s exit is compounded by Hugo Ekitike’s unavailability until 2027, limiting immediate depth on the left. Romano hinted Endrick could become available again in January, yet Mourinho appears intent on giving the youngster a chance this season. Liverpool must therefore navigate a transfer market where their primary targets are either blocked or costly.

Get the next signing right and Liverpool can finally plug the right‑wing hole that has haunted them since Mohamed’s departure. Even a misspelt Liverpoo headline cannot hide the urgency of finding a Saint‑like work ethic and quality on that flank.
