EA Sports, the producer of the computer games, released the list of the 27 best players for the 2026/27 season, compiled in the ‘In de Kantlijn’ feature by the VI.nl editorial team. The editorial notes appear under the heading Kantlijn' on the VI.nl portal.

Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland each receive a rating of 91 on a scale of 1 to 99, making them the best players this year. Mbappé keeps the same score as last season, while Haaland improves by one point.

The best Nederlander is Virgil van Dijk, placed 23rd with a rating of 88. This marks a drop of two points compared with the previous edition, and De list confirms his position among the elite.

Women’s ratings and pending updates

EA currently provides ratings for 27 male and 27 female players only. Full ratings for all footballers, as well as competition‑specific scores, will be released in the coming days; the Eredivisie is not yet included, and the complete Dutch release is scheduled for Friday.
