Caiazza warns Napoli must choose between Lukaku and De Bruyne

🇮🇹 By 4AllFootball ·

Journalist Salvatore Caiazza told Channel 8 that the relationship between Romelu Lukaku and Napoli has fractured, saying Lui and Kevin De Bruyne cannot both stay as the club faces a €6 million annual wage for Lukaku and a potential €12 million gross salary for a successor.

Caiazza said the future of Romelu Lukaku continues to be one of the most discussed topics at Napoli.

Con Lukaku, Caiazza noted that last season the striker displayed a lack of communication with the club, not returning calls, ignoring the phone and sending messages via social media.

He added that beyond the behavioural issue, the six‑million‑euro yearly cost puts pressure on Napoli to lower its wage bill.

Caiazza compared the situation with Kevin De Bruyne, highlighting that the Belgian midfielder also carries a sizeable contract and that Napoli cannot afford to retain both players.

The journalist stressed that the club’s future strategy must focus on making salary management more sustainable, implying that one of the two high‑earning forwards will have to leave.

The commentary appeared on Google Discover, listed under Fonti preferite, with the source tag Stampa A− A+, indicating the article’s placement among preferred news outlets.
