Brugge sets €30‑35m price for Belgische defender as Europese clubs watch

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·
Joaquin Seys, the 21‑year‑old Belgian defender, has become the focus of several European clubs after a strong season with Club Brugge, and the club has set a transfer price between €30 million and €35 million. The news broke today at 17:56, highlighting the growing market value of the young talent. Seys grew into an important piece at Club Brugge, impressing in the Champions League and also showing at the WK that he can perform at the highest level. His performances have marked him as one of the most promising defenders in the Belgian league. Hoewel Seys did not force a starting place at the WK, he made an excellent impression against Spanje, where the wing‑back fell strongly and held his own against Lamine Yamal. The display against the Spanish side raised his profile among scouts. Ook foreign interest has risen after that performance. According to the Belgian press, FC Porto and Benfica have been tracking the Belgian international for some time and would be ready to submit a bid of around €20 million. Paris Saint‑Germain also kept an eye on Seys during their search for a new left‑back, but the French champions ultimately chose Lucas Digne, who arrived for €10 million from Aston Villa. There is interest from the Premier League as well. Aston Villa would see Seys as the successor to Digne, while Newcastle United, with Sean Steur, appears to have started a new hunt for young talent and has added Seys to its radar. Club Brugge does not feel obliged to sell its youth product. The club has placed a firm price tag on Seys, aiming for a transfer sum between €30 million and €35 million, and only a club willing to meet that amount would make a departure discussable. If a deal materialises, Seys could become another top transfer for the Belgian champions, who earlier this week reached an agreement with Arsenal for the €40 million signing of Christos Tzolis. The potential move underscores Brugge's ability to develop talent that attracts attention from the continent’s elite clubs, while also reinforcing the club’s reputation as a springboard for players aiming for the biggest stages.
