ADO Den Haag adds Denmark‑Ghana defender jensen‑Abbew
Denmark‑Ghana centre‑back Jonas Jensen‑Abbew has left Danish champions Aarhus GF to join Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2030 after completing his transfer on 26 August. The 24‑year‑old, who stands 1.89 m tall and is right‑footed, makes the switch from the Danish Superliga to the Dutch top flight.
Defensive reinforcement for ADO Den Haag
ADO Den Haag said the signing adds defensive strength to their squad. Jensen‑Abbew helped Aarhus GF win the Danish championship in the 2025‑26 season, securing his first senior trophy. He also featured in two Champions League qualifying matches, accumulating 134 minutes of European experience.
In the domestic league he recorded a 14‑minute Superliga appearance before departing. He remained involved at the start of the 2026‑27 campaign, making two Champions League qualifying appearances and one Superliga appearance before completing his move on 26 August. Although he did not score in those outings, his height and right‑footedness give ADO a physically imposing centre‑back.
First move abroad for the 24‑year‑old
The transfer marks Jensen‑Abbew’s first move outside Denmark after more than two years with Aarhus GF. He signed a deal that keeps him at ADO Den Haag until 30 June 2030. Born in Herlev, he holds both Danish and Ghanaian nationality. He entered Nordsjaelland’s youth system in 2019 after spells with FCN Youth and AB Youth. Previously he joined Aarhus GF from Nordsjaelland in February 2024, having spent time on loan at HB Koge.
Jensen‑Abbew’s market value is listed at €750,000, with a peak valuation of €900,000. His senior career began at Nordsjaelland after progressing from the club’s under‑19 side.
For ADO Den Haag the arrival provides a centre‑back with domestic title‑winning experience and recent exposure to European qualifying football. For Jensen‑Abbew the contract offers stability and the chance to develop in the Netherlands after leaving the Danish Superliga.
