Harry Kane nets 36 goals to claim third straight Bundesliga Golden Boot
Harry Kane finished the Bundesliga season with 36 goals, securing the top-scorer award for the third consecutive season. Bayern Munich’s English striker achieved the milestone in the final matchday against VfB Stuttgart.
Kane’s haul included five braces and four hat-tricks, including a five-goal performance in a single game. His consistency saw him average over a goal per game, finishing ahead of Union Berlin’s Kevin Behrens and Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface.
Bayern Munich secured the Bundesliga title with a 13-point cushion, with Kane contributing 12 of those wins through his goals. The club’s attacking trio of Kane, Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala combined for 78 goals across the season.
Kane’s 36-goal haul marks the first time a non-German player has achieved three straight top-scorer titles in the Bundesliga. His tally also ranks as the highest single-season total by an Englishman in Europe’s top five leagues since Alan Shearer in 1994-95.
The striker’s performances earned him a sixth-place finish in the 2023 Ballon d’Or voting, highlighting his standing among the world’s elite. Bayern Munich have begun contract talks with Kane ahead of the summer transfer window.
Looking ahead, Kane will lead Bayern’s Champions League campaign next season, with the club targeting a sustained attack on domestic and European fronts.
