Raheem Sterling arrested on drugs charge after Lamborghini crash
Raheem Sterling was arrested Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. The 31-year-old winger, who joined Feyenoord six months ago, crashed his Lamborghini in a single-vehicle incident in England.
Police confirmed the arrest following the crash in London. Sterling remains in custody as investigations continue. Feyenoord has not issued a statement regarding the player's status.
The incident occurred late Thursday night local time. No other parties were reportedly involved in the crash. British media reported the Lamborghini suffered significant damage.
Sterling, capped 82 times for England, joined Feyenoord in July. His contract runs until 2026. The club signed him from Manchester City for a reported fee.
The Football Association has not commented on the arrest. Sterling’s next court appearance is pending. Feyenoord’s next match is Saturday against FC Utrecht.
