Henk Brugge appointed head coach of Telstar

🇳🇱 19 May 2026

Henk Brugge has been named the new head coach of Telstar, taking over from Anthony Correia who has moved to FC Utrecht. The appointment is effective immediately.

The 48-year-old coach arrives from SC Heerenveen, where he has served as the club's assistant manager since 2023. He replaces Correia after the Dutch side confirmed his departure.

Brugge brings a varied résumé that includes work in youth development at Heerenveen, PEC Zwolle and Feyenoord. He has also held positions for the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB).

During his time at Heerenveen, Brugge stepped in as interim manager for three matches following Robin van Persie's exit to Feyenoord in February 2025. The short spell gave him experience leading a first‑team side in the Eredivisie.

Under Anthony Correia, Telstar enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Eredivisie, finishing fifteenth and securing their place in the top tier for another year. The club hopes to build on that foundation.

Brugge's appointment signals Telstar's intent to continue competing at the highest level with fresh ideas and tactical guidance. The club expects him to maintain stability and aim for higher league positions.

Looking ahead, Brugge will prepare the squad for the upcoming campaign, focusing on strengthening the team and consolidating Telstar's Eredivisie status.
