Inter target Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel

Inter Milan are finalising a deal for Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel. The experienced Italian is set to join as competition and cover for Josep Martinez.

The Nerazzurri plan to release Yann Sommer this summer. Provedel will provide experienced backup to Martinez, who is expected to become first-choice goalkeeper.

Lazio will promote Christos Mandas to the starting role following his return from a loan at Bournemouth. Provedel’s departure creates space for Mandas to step up.

Edoardo Motta, signed by Lazio in January, is expected to serve as Mandas’ deputy. The move strengthens Lazio’s goalkeeping depth as Mandas takes on the starting role.

Inter are targeting a €3 million fee for Provedel. The Scudetto holders aim to bolster their goalkeeping squad with an experienced option.
