Athletic Club Seek Victory Over Alhama in Season Finale

Athletic Club will host Alhama on Saturday in the final round of the Liga F Moeve. Both sides have nothing at stake as Athletic already secured a top‑eight finish and Alhama are already relegated.

The Athletic secured a place among the eight teams that qualify directly for the Copa de la Reina round of 16 on Tuesday. Alhama’s relegation was confirmed earlier in the season.

Coach Javi Lerga said, “We have the objective of winning and we are in front of our supporters. It is the last league match, a special game after a long, irregular year.” He added that the team wants to link another victory and finish the campaign with a positive after‑taste.

Lerga will be without defender Ane Elexpuru, who suffered an injury in the previous round. Midfielder Sara Ortega also misses the match after being injured against Dux Logroño.

Athletic aims to close the season with a win and carry the momentum into the Copa de la Reina. A positive result would give the squad confidence ahead of the upcoming knockout stage.
