Feyenoord on the brink of signing Nacho Ferri as Ueda's heir

Feyenoord are in the final stages of securing 21‑year‑old striker Nacho Ferri from Belgian side Westerlo, with the player missing a training session at the club to finalise the move to Rotterdam. Reports indicate that an agreement is now within reach after Westerlo’s initial €9 million asking price was met. Het reported that Ferri was physically present at Westerlo but did not take part in the opening training drills. The 21‑year‑old striker’s absence was described as a step toward completing his transfer to Rotterdam. Sources said Ferri is ‘on a breath’ of moving to Feyenoord, with negotiations described as being in full swing. The latest update suggests an agreement between the Dutch club and Westerlo is now within arm’s length. Earlier reports indicated Westerlo set a minimum price of €9 million for Ferri, while Feyenoord’s offer was initially €1 million lower. It remains unclear which party adjusted the fee to bring the deal closer to completion. Feyenoord view Ferri as a potential successor to Japanese forward Ayase Ueda, who is slated to leave the club for a move to the United States. The Dutch side hopes the incoming striker can fill the void left by Ueda’s departure. Ueda is currently representing Japan at the World Cup and has been praised for his performances. Prior to his US transfer, Premier League clubs Everton and Leeds United were reported to have shown interest in the striker. The transfer’s finalisation now hinges on the parties agreeing on the exact fee, after which Ferri could join Feyenoord ahead of the new season.
