Zizou's 2006 final shirt up for auction at €15,000–€30,000

Do you dream of owning the prepared jersey for Zinédine Zidane in the 2006 World Cup final, lost by the Blues against Italy? The Aguttes house is organising an online auction from October 25 to November 7, 2026, estimating the piece between €15 000 and €30 000.

Origin of the jersey and family history

Christiane*, who has owned the jersey for twenty years, says the garment was won in a competition organised by Adidas. Her son, then seven years old, made a video in which he addressed Zidane; the most voted video allowed the jersey to be won.

The parcel was delivered by an Adidas courier from Paris, the jersey being presented in a frame. It is a prepared jersey, never worn by the player, but intended to be used if the team changed kit during the match.

Reasons for the sale

“I think it’s the right time, Zizou now being a manager,” explains Christiane. She discovered the opportunity after seeing a television programme mentioning the sale of football jerseys, then had the piece appraised.

Her son, now an adult and owner of an apartment to fund, agreed to part with the souvenir, judging that the moment had arrived as long as the price remained attractive.

Appraisal and comparison with other pieces

The Aguttes expert highlighted that even prepared jerseys have value for collectors. He cites a jersey from the 1998 final, unworn, sold for €52 000.

According to the expert, the value of the 2006 jersey does not depend on the fact that it was never worn or signed, but on its authenticity and the rarity of the World Cup‑related souvenir.

Exhibition and sale procedure

The jersey will be on display from October 28 to 30 in Neuilly‑sur‑Seine, before being removed by the expert for the auction. All supporting documents are available, and the frame was opened in the presence of the expert to avoid any doubt about authenticity.

The statements were collected thanks to Kévin Morand, who conducted the interview with Christiane and relayed the details of the sale.
