Zinédine Zidane deprived of attackers before the Nations League

Zinédine Zidane's second squad is imminent and the boss of the French will unveil on Friday the players selected for the next wave of the Nations League.

This unveiling comes a month after his first gathering at the helm of the French national team.

Confirmed absences

Maxence Lacroix, Manu Koné and Ousmane Dembélé will watch the French team from their screens, their physical condition not allowing them to be fit. Estéban Lepaul also has a negative outlook regarding his availability.

The Rennes forward suffered a sprain on October 18 while Stade Rennais were playing away against Paris FC. He has been recovering since, but the healing of his left ankle is taking the necessary time, making the timing too tight to join the French.

Estéban Lepaul has not played for two weeks and will not be able to offer his services to Franck Haise for the Europa League match scheduled for Wednesday against Olympiakos at 4:30 p.m. Franck Haise, coach of the Red and Black, told RMC: “He does not train with me and I have not seen him touch the ball. […] It is not a very good sign but I am not always with him.”

According to the media, a return for Estéban Lepaul could be possible during the international window. Lepaul was called up to the French for the first time in September and had been started twice by “Zizou”.

Zinédine Zidane will have to choose another option in a few days.
