Zidane’s alarm over Mbappé’s knee fuels Real Madrid worries

France coach Zinedine Zidane warned on Tuesday that Kylian Mbappé’s left‑knee tendon problem “doesn’t look good”, after the striker was forced off in the Nations League clash with Turkey. The injury, which required his replacement by Désiré Doué early in the second half, has raised concerns among the French camp and Real Madrid supporters.

Nature of the injury

Olé reported that the problem is a tendon injury in Mbappé’s left knee, caused by a hyper‑extension. The medical team said the striker developed hypertension in the knee during the injection, and no recovery timetable was given as of Friday night in Europe.

“No pinta bien, por desgracia,” Zinedine Zidane said, adding: “I think he will have to come back. We will not take any risk. It is not very encouraging that he can continue.”

The French federation, referred to as Francia, announced that Mbappé left the national team camp to return to Spain following the official statement of a left‑knee tendon injury.
