The Dutchman explains that during his recovery he “wants to make the most of his time” and that football remains his priority, but he also wants to “keep learning off the pitch”. He emphasizes that he wants to better understand the business side of the sport.
Simons has already become acquainted with various approaches in different cities across the United States over the past weeks, an experience he wants to apply in the Harvard program.

He states: “I have always been interested in more than just football. I want to learn from people in other sectors and continue to develop as a person.”
Despite the injury, Simons continues to focus on a swift return to Tottenham, which currently sits at the bottom of the Premier League and desperately needs the creative spark of the playmaker.
He concludes with the intention to “get back on the pitch as soon as possible” while also investing in his personal development outside football.
