World champion Toni Kroos checks a coaching course, Real's Pérez wants him

In the podcast “Einfach mal Luppen” one hears the quiet laugh of Toni Kroos, while he remains silent about rumors alongside his brother Felix, and contemplates a coaching career with a professional team. The former DFB world champion has, according to a media report, expressed interest in a coaching course for former professionals.

Coaching Course and Qualification

According to the Spanish newspaper AS, the course is scheduled to take place in the 2027/2028 season. Kroos has communicated his interest to the Spanish football federation RFEF. With his current licence, he is allowed to coach up to the third‑highest Spanish division, but not in the first or second league.

In April, the same newspaper reported that Real‑Madrid president Florentino Pérez has a strong interest in involving the former international player in the sporting management. A possible role in the sporting leadership has already been discussed.

Among the Madrilenians, Kroos enjoys legendary status, which became clear in the podcast when his brother Felix raised the rumors. Toni replied with a smile: “I have nothing to say about that.”

Kroos ended his professional career after the Euro 2024 tournament and had previously won six Champions‑League titles – once with FC Bayern Munich and five times with Real Madrid – as well as the 2014 World Cup title with Germany.
