Wolters backs Madrid move for Dumfries

🇳🇱

Randy Wolters has advocated Real Madrid as a strong next step for Denzel Dumfries. Wolters made the remarks during a Coca-Cola event hosted by VoetbalPrimeur.

Wolters and Dumfries faced each other four times. Dumfries played for Sparta Rotterdam while Wolters represented Go Ahead Eagles in those matches.

Dumfries is a current Oranje international with 40 caps and 4 goals. He joined Inter Milan in January 2021 from PSV Eindhoven for a reported fee of €12.5 million.

Wolters played 119 Eredivisie matches for Go Ahead Eagles between 2017 and 2021. He scored 30 goals and provided 12 assists in that period.

Dumfries has made 152 appearances for Inter Milan since his move, scoring 9 goals and providing 19 assists. He remains a key figure in Ronald Koeman’s Dutch squad.

Wolters now works as a pundit and commentator after retiring in 2023. His assessment follows Dumfries’ strong performances in Serie A and the Champions League.

The Dutch defender has been linked with moves to top European clubs in recent months.
