Wiegman extends contract until 2029, eyes Euro and Los

At the end of the afternoon on an autumn day in London, Sarina Wiegman signed, in the presence of the coaching staff, a two‑year contract extension as England's manager, committing herself until the end of the 2029 European Championship.
Goals until 2029
The previous agreement ended after the 2027 World Cup, but the new clause projects the coach through the next Euro, also allowing her to lead the 2028 Olympic Games team in Los Angeles.
Wiegman has already guided the Lionesses to two European Championship titles, highlighted by the victory over Spain in the Euro 2025 final.
In addition, England reached the 2023 World Cup final and won the first Women's Finalissima, reinforcing the coach's record of success.
Before taking charge of the England team, in September 2021, Wiegman had won Euro 2017 while serving the Netherlands.
The team is now working to secure qualification for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, facing Ukraine in a two‑leg playoff in December, after eliminating Greece 8‑1 on aggregate.
Assistants Janneke Bijl and Arvid Smit, as well as goalkeeping coach Darren Ward, have also extended their contracts until 2029, reinforcing technical continuity.
