West Ham Everything: Piroe and Parrott transfer saga

West Ham United in the Championship have abandoned their pursuit of Irish striker Troy Parrott and turned their attention to Leeds United forward Joel Piroe, with reports of a £15 million offer for their promotion push as the summer transfer window approaches its 1 September deadline.

Parrott deal collapses

Irish striker Troy Parrott, 24, had been heavily linked with a move to West Ham, with the London club reportedly prepared to break the Championship transfer‑record fee to bring him back to London.

Parrott has notched 51 goals and 16 assists in 97 appearances for AZ Alkmaar, but AZ turned down an opening bid and is believed to be seeking between €18 million and €20 million; West Ham have now accepted defeat and called the deal off.

Other clubs showing interest include Fulham, Ajax, PSV, Real Betis and Como, yet the Hammers have moved on as the 1 September deadline ticks down.

Piroe emerges as new target

West Ham have made an offer of £15 million to Leeds United for Dutch forward Joel Piroe, as reported by Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink via his X account.

The 27‑year‑old former PSV Eindhoven man scored 46 times in 96 games for Swansea City before moving to Leeds for a fee reportedly in excess of £10 million, and he later added 13 goals in the 2023‑24 play‑off final season and 19 goals in 46 games as Leeds won the Championship.

Leeds are said to be open to a permanent sale or a loan with a future obligation to buy, but Piroe’s high wages mean West Ham would need to match his current earnings at the Whites.

With just over two weeks left in the summer window, West Ham have time to add quality to their squad and position themselves toward the top end of the standings after 46 games.
