Wealdstone's experience boost hinges on Smith and Harris

Wealdstone have moved to close a clear experience gap in their squad by signing defender Kyle Smith, 22, and midfielder Jayden Harris, 26, on permanent deals ahead of the new season. Both players arrive after loan or short‑term spells – Smith from Championship side Millwall and Harris from Sutton United after 40 National League appearances. The signings are intended to boost the Stones’ experience and add depth across defence and midfield.

Wealdstone identified a need for more experience and depth as they gear up for the new campaign. The signings aim to boost the club’s experience and provide added defensive solidity and midfield depth.

Defender Kyle Smith, 22, arrives after two loan spells from Championship side Millwall. His previous loans demonstrated his ability to adapt to the Stones’ system and bring valuable Championship exposure to the back line.

Midfielder Jayden Harris, 26, joins from Sutton United after making 40 National League appearances. His proven consistency and the midfield quality displayed at Sutton United were key factors in the club’s targeting of Harris.

The blend of Championship experience from Smith and National League experience from Harris should enhance the Stones’ competitiveness. Both players now add a mix of higher‑tier exposure and proven consistency to the Stones.

Smith’s permanent deal ends his loan cycle, offering him a stable home at the Stones. Harris leaves Sutton United to continue his development with regular football at Wealdstone, as the club looks to build on recent performances.
