Vlahovic leaves Juventus for Besiktas, he knows the truth
Dusan Vlahovic officially left Juventus Turin this summer, signing with Besiktas JK in Turkey after four and a half years in Piedmont. The 26‑year‑old striker said “I know what the truth is” about the reasons for his departure.
End of the adventure in Turin
Having reached the end of his contract with the Bianconeri, the Serbian striker signed with Besiktas JK, ending a four‑and‑a‑half‑year adventure in Piedmont. His departure marks the definitive close of his spell at Juventus Turin.
He had joined the Old Lady in January 2022, coming from Fiorentina, for a transfer estimated at nearly €85 million. This arrival had generated great expectations within the Italian club.
Statements on the hierarchy and negotiations
“I started on the bench for a well‑known reason: I was entering my final year of contract,” Vlahovic told Mozzart Sport. He believes this situation relegated him in the hierarchy of forwards.
Dusan also refuted rumours of an extension, stating that the claims that he had set conditions for a new contract were false. “For three years, I had no concrete discussions with the management,” he added.
The Serbian recalled that the relationship with the fans deteriorated during a friendly match against the U‑23 side, where he was booed despite scoring in a 2‑0 win. He emphasized that the supporters’ pressure affected him.
He only spoke with former director Damien Comolli at the end of last season, noting that this exchange was unique. This rare contact reinforced his feeling of isolation.
According to reports, the salary negotiations included a possible wage reduction, but the parties failed to reach an agreement due to disagreements over commissions and signing bonuses. Vlahovic said that the information about his demands was inaccurate.
A serious muscle injury suffered against Cagliari at the end of November 2025 kept him out while he was expected to regain a starting spot under Tudor. He thanked coach Luciano Spalletti for his support last year.
Juventus, often called the Juve, is experiencing a financial, institutional and sporting crisis, with exclusion from European competitions and a six‑year drought without a top‑flight title. This situation has heavily influenced Vlahovic’s departure.
