VfB Marburg boost defence by signing German‑Ghanaian left‑back Lloyd Kuffour

Lloyd Addo Kuffour, the 24‑year‑old German‑Ghanaian left‑back, has completed a move to VfB 1905 Marburg. The club announced the signing as a reinforcement for their defence, and Kuffour will wear the number three shirt. Marburg expect the young defender to add quality and depth on the left side immediately.

Academy pedigree and senior experience

Kuffour developed through respected German academies, notably Hannover 96 and Borussia Dortmund, which gave him a strong technical foundation. He later built a substantial record in the Regionalliga before gaining experience in Austria’s second division, exposing him to a different style of football. Most recently he was contracted to BFC Dynamo, where he continued his development and added further competitive minutes.

VfB Marburg believe his background makes him an important addition, citing his defensive ability, athleticism and familiarity with higher‑level football as assets that will broaden options in the wide areas and increase competition for places. The club welcomed him publicly, writing: “Welcome to VfB, Lloyd! Great to have you here.”

Supporters will now look forward to seeing the new signing in the club’s blue‑and‑white colours, hoping his experience across multiple leagues will translate into solid performances on the pitch.
