Valencia wants to immediately appoint Javier Aguirre and close the coaching gap

FC Valencia is close to signing former Mexican national team coach Javier Aguirre to take over from Carlos Coberán. According to 90 Minutes, Aguirre has already broadly agreed to a collaboration, and his arrival is expected as early as the beginning of next week.

Contract until the end of the season and possible extension

The coach is initially to sign a contract until the end of the season. The document provides that an automatic extension will be triggered upon achieving certain sporting objectives.

As 90 Minutes reports, some details of the contract still need to be clarified. However, Aguirre's arrival in Valencia is already expected for the beginning of next week.

Valencia dismissed head coach Carlos Coberán at the beginning of this week. The separation came after only a short tenure.

The management is now seeking a swift succession solution to stabilise the team. Talks with Aguirre are apparently progressing at full speed.

For Javier Aguirre, this would already be his seventh coaching stint in Spain.

Previously he worked at CA Osasuna, Atlético Madrid, Real Zaragoza, Espanyol Barcelona, CD Leganés and RCD Mallorca.

Most recently he managed the Mexican national team and led the squad to the World Cup.

With his many years of experience in Spanish football, Aguirre could quickly bring stability to Valencia. However, the appointment has not yet been officially confirmed.
