UWCL Juventus dominate Häcken in Gothenburg, extending unbeaten run
Juventus opened the scoring in the 57th minute when Tatiana Pinto slipped a low finish past Häcken goalkeeper after Amaiur Sarriegi’s incisive pass, a moment that set the tone for the UEFA Women’s Champions League encounter in Gothenburg on Wednesday.
Häcken entered the first half on the back of a 6‑0 league win over Norrköping, but created eight shots compared with Juventus’ five. Maja Bodin saw her early near‑corner ruled out for off‑side, and the sides went into the break level.
Juventus probed down the flanks throughout the half, looking for a breakthrough, but the visitors’ defence held firm, leaving the score tied at half‑time.
Second half breakthroughs
The deadlock was broken in the 57th minute when Tatiana Pinto slipped a low finish past Häcken goalkeeper after Amaiur Sarriegi’s incisive pass. The strike marked Juventus’ 100th goal in the UWCL.
Emma Stølen Godø doubled the lead in the 76th minute, finishing from Eva Schatzer’s free‑kick delivery. A VAR check confirmed the goal was onside.
Alba Redondo completed the scoring in the 88th minute, running clear after Júlia Bartel’s touch. Before travelling to Sweden, Redondo had said ‘the moment is now’ as she looked to rediscover form at Juventus.
Häcken continued to create chances, with Anna Anvegård striking the bar late on, but could not breach Juventus goalkeeper Daniëlle de Jong.
The win left the Swedish side without a point from its first two league‑phase games. Häcken now travel to face Paris FC, while Juventus next host Austria Vienna in the competition.
