United push for Kane as Bayern lines up three‑year deal
A three‑year contract on the table at Bayern Munich could keep the 33‑year‑old striker in Munich beyond 2026, but Man Utd have been told they still need to sign Harry Kane to replace Benjamin Sesko. Kane, who arrived from Tottenham Hotspur three years ago, is already a leading contender for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
United's striker dilemma
Manchester United have been told they still need to sign Harry Kane to replace Benjamin Sesko, who is currently the club's number one striker. Sesko, aged 23, has scored only 13 goals and provided one assist in 35 matches for United so far.
Former United forward Dion Dublin argued that United lack a true number nine capable of delivering 30 goals a season. He warned that Sesko might manage 12 or 15 goals, while other forwards such as Matheus Cunha or Bruno Fernandes are unlikely to reach the required tally.
Co‑owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has long dreamed of bringing Kane to Manchester United's Old Trafford, and TEAMtalk’s Graeme Bailey reported on August 10 that United remain keen on the striker. The report also noted that Ben Jacobs highlighted the club’s urgency in securing an upgrade on Sesko.
Thomas Tuchel praises Bayern striker Harry Kane for extraordinary hunger
Bayern Munich are prepared to offer Kane a three‑year contract and expect him to sign before the end of the season. German media say the club will announce the new deal next month, and ’s Christian Falk wrote on September 4 that Kane will be off the market for a long time.
Kane arrived at Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur three years ago and has already become a leading contender for the 2026 Ballon d’Or. The England striker, now 33, continues to prove he can contribute at the highest level despite nearing the end of his career.

Dublin summed up the transfer challenge, stating that it would take a lot of money but Kane remains the only complete package to lift United back to the top. He added that the situation is NOT a compliment to United’s current attacking options.
