Union Saint‑Gilloise targets World Cup revelation Mofokeng

🇬🇧

Union Saint‑Gilloise is moving to sign South African winger Relebohile Mofokeng, a World Cup standout, after the tournament, with the Belgian club prepared to meet a Transfermarkt‑valued fee of around three million euros and finalize the deal before rivals intervene.

Union Saint‑Gilloise has already spent more than nine million euros on the transfer market this window, signing Ondrej Kricfalusi, Darius Olaru, Ilan Hurtevent and Nikki Havenaar, while awaiting a possible agreement with ADO Den Haag for Milan Hokke.

Despite limited departures so far, Union expects several moves after the World Cup; Anan Khalaili is linked with a Serie A transfer, and only Christian Burgess and Guillaume François have officially left the squad.

Relebohile Mofokeng is a right‑footed attacking midfielder standing 1.68 metre tall, also capable of playing on the left wing.

Mofokeng featured in three of South Africa’s four World Cup matches, including the round‑of‑sixteen defeat to Canada on Sunday evening.

Domestically, Mofokeng won the South African championship with Orlando Pirates, recording ten goals and eight assists in the league last season.

Union aims to complete the signing quickly before another club intervenes, planning to spend several million euros for the international, with Transfermarkt valuing him at three million euros.
