UEFA expands U18 Friendship Cup to global stage in Nyon

From September 24, UEFA launches the third edition of its U18 Friendship Cup in Nyon, juxtaposing a familiar Swiss setting with a newly global participant list that stretches the federation’s development programme beyond Europe. The eight men's Under‑18 national sides will converge at the Centre sportif de Colovray, turning the modest town into a hub of international youth football.

Running until October 3rd, the tournament will see Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ivory Coast, England, Egypt, South Korea and Spain battle for the Cup at the Centre sportif de Colovray, adjacent to UEFA’s Swiss headquarters. All matches are scheduled on the same venue.

By inviting teams from South America, North America, Africa and Asia, UEFA pushes the U18 Friendship Cup beyond Europe for the first time since its 2024 debut under the ‘Together’ initiative.

The competition will conclude on October 3rd, offering a platform for young talent to showcase skills while reinforcing UEFA’s commitment to global youth development.
