U18 captain of Oud-Heverlee, Noam Ferro, wins over Morocco and Serie A
Noam Ferro, seventeen years old, wears the captain's armband of the U18 Elite 1 team of Oud-Heverlee Leuven. A right‑footed player operating on the left side, he holds dual Belgian-Moroccan nationality and is already attracting the interest of the Moroccan Federation as well as several Serie A clubs.
In Elite 1, the Oud‑Heverlee side sits sixth after three matchdays: a win against Westerlo, a draw with Zulte Waregem and a loss at Antwerp. The young captain contributes to this strong start thanks to his role as a left‑wing back in a five‑man defence. His team has therefore shown defensive solidity and an ability to create chances.
Trained at Oud‑Heverlee Leuven from a young age, Ferro played about fifteen matches with the U18s last season. This experience has allowed him to gain maturity and establish himself as a leader on the pitch. His development continues today in the Elite category, where he keeps standing out.
The Moroccan Federation's interest
The Moroccan Federation, seeking players of his profile, has expressed interest in the dual national. It inquired about the young talent's background, who has not yet been called up to the Belgian U21s. This attention could open the door to a possible international selection.
Serie A clubs keeping watch
Several Serie A outfits are closely monitoring Ferro's progress, attracted by his technical qualities and development potential. Although no transfer is yet being considered, the possibility that the player completes his training at an Italian club exists. Italian observers are assessing his adaptation to attacking play and his ability to operate on the left flank.
The coming weeks, or even months, will be decisive for the future of the Louvain captain. If his progress continues, he could soon have to choose between continuing his career in Belgium, joining the Moroccan Federation or signing with an Italian Serie A club.
