Outlook and upcoming challenges
Italy, led by coach Enrico Battisti, remains in first place in the group with nine points. Battisti said: “We will try to recover our energy ahead of tomorrow, because we want to reach the next stage of the tournament by achieving the best possible placement.” The next assignment will be against Benin and Hong Kong, who drew 1‑1 in the previous matchday.
The coach added: “I have seen a clear difference in values on the pitch, which prevents me from making certain assessments. Our opponents tried to endure as little as possible, but we could and should have done more in front of goal.”
