Two SSC Napoli talents in the squad for the Under‑15 World Cup

The Under‑15 National Team, coached by Enrico Battisti, will take part in the inaugural FIFA U‑15 World Cup & Festival in Baku from October 24 to 30, with 14 call‑ups born in 2012, including two talents from SSC Napoli, after the two‑day training camp in Novarello.

The tournament, reserved for players born in 2011 and 2012, will involve 191 federations. The teams are divided into 32 groups – 31 of six and one of five – and the matches will be played with the 8‑against‑8 format on reduced pitches of 68 × 47 metres, lasting 40 minutes, two halves of 20.

The programme includes two phases: the qualification from October 24 to 26 with 474 matches, and the final phase from October 28 to 30 with 463 games. Based on the results of the first round, the squads will be classified into six merit bands. All matches will take place in Baku, on the 10 fields of the Hovsan Competition Complex, while the Crystal Hall will host the inaugural match between Azerbaijan and East Timor and the six finals.

Call‑ups and preparation in Novarello

The latest news confirms that coach Enrico Battisti has called up 14 players, all born in 2012, including two from SSC Napoli. The youngsters will gather on Tuesday, October 20 in Granozzo con Monticello, in the province of Novara, for three training sessions over two days at the Novarello Sports Centre Villaggio Azzurro.

The departure for Baku is scheduled for the morning of Thursday, October 22, with a direct flight to Azerbaijan.

Italy will debut on Saturday, October 24 on field 5 at 8.15 against Turkmenistan, then will face Qatar on field 5 at 7.00 and the Cook Islands on field 4 at 13.45. The qualification phase will conclude on Monday, October 26 with the matches against Benin on field 1 at 10.45 and Hong Kong on field 10 at 17.30.
