Turkish giants push for Lukaku as Napoli set high price
Fenerbahçe’s four‑million‑euro offer for 33‑year‑old Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku comes against Napoli’s ten‑million‑euro asking price, with transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirming that direct negotiations have already begun. The Turkish top club is reportedly involving its chairman personally, signalling serious intent to secure the forward before the summer window closes.
On the club’s side, Fenerbahçe’s chairman is personally taking part in the talks with Lukaku’s entourage, Napoli’s training camp, opting to work on his fitness in Belgium, where he posts individual training clips on Instagram.
AS Monaco is not in the current negotiations, Romano emphasised, despite earlier speculation that the French club might be a destination.
A previously rumoured transfer to Atlanta United has also been ruled out, according to the latest reports.
Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello has voiced the striker’s displeasure with being treated as a second‑choice option at Napoli.
Napoli is reportedly seeking a ten‑million‑euro fee, while Fenerbahçe’s current bid stands at four million euros, as noted by journalist Alfredo Pedullà.
The Turkish giant’s involvement underscores a growing trend of Turkish clubs entering the race for high‑profile players, challenging traditional European suitors.
