Turkey parts ways with Vincenzo Montella after Nations League disaster

Montella, 52, took over the role in September 2023, replacing the German coach Stefan Kuntz.
Before that he had spent just under two years on the sidelines in the Süper Lig with Adana Demirspor.
Record and points evaluation
In 40 games the Italian recorded 21 wins, five draws and 14 defeats.
This gives him an average of 1.70 points per game.
Decision and international results
The newspaper Milliyet reported on Wednesday that federation president Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu and the TFF leadership have decided to part ways with the Italian.
An official confirmation of Montella’s departure has not yet been made.
Under his guidance Turkey qualified for a World Cup finals for the first time since 2002.
However, at the tournament in North America the team was completely disappointing and were eliminated after the group stage.
This was followed by the Nations League fiasco: Turkey lost all four matches against France, twice Italy and Belgium, mostly without chances.
The results were 0:1 against France, 1:4 at home against Italy, 0:3 in Belgium and 1:3 to finish in Italy.
