Transfert Salim Diakite: Zulte Waregen secure one‑year loan
Zulte Waregen announced the signing of Malian defender Salim Diakite on a season‑long loan from Palerme in Italie, with an option to purchase the player at the end of the term. The deal was confirmed on Tuesday, and the 24‑year‑old will join the Belgian first‑division side immediately.
One‑year loan with purchase option
The Transfert is a one‑year loan with an option to buy. Le agreement includes a clause that allows Zulte Waregen to make the move permanent before the season concludes.
Early career and Italian debut
Le Malien made his debut at the age of 18 with FC Mantois, beginning his senior career in France.
In 2019, the right‑back first set foot on Italian soil. Après Agnonese, Teramo and Ternana, Salim continued his development across the lower leagues before moving to Palerme.
Palermo stint and Zulte Waregen move
Salim signed with Palerme during the winter of 2024 after his spells at the aforementioned clubs.
He has appeared in 66 matches for Palerme’s first team and featured 14 times for Juve Stabia last season while on loan.
The Malian international is loaned to Zulte Waregen until the end of the season, with the option to make the transfer permanent.
