Tottenham scout Nicolo Tresoldi as Troy Parrott’s £17m exit looms
Tottenham Hotspur’s own scouting team flew to Belgium on Tuesday evening, officially sending jets out of the UK to watch 22‑year‑old striker Nicolo Tresoldi, while the club also monitors the £17 million exit of Troy Parrott.
Spurs’ Belgian scouting mission
The North London outfit dispatched representatives to Club Brugge’s stadium after the Belgian side lost 3‑2 to Aston Villa in the Champions League. Despite the defeat, Tresoldi converted a penalty, taking his Premier League‑season tally to five goals.
TEAMtalk reported that Manchester United also had scouts at the match, and Barcelona were credited with interest, underscoring the striker’s rising profile across Europe.
Why Tresoldi could be the answer
Having moved from Hannover to Brugge, Tresoldi scored 23 goals last season and has already netted four Champions League goals, giving him valuable experience at the elite level. German Football Association sporting director Rudi Völler hailed him as “the future of German football”.
Tottenham have spent £300 million this summer under Roberto De Zerbi but remain in the relegation zone after three outings and have yet to score a Premier League goal, a drought shared only by Aston Villa and Coventry City.
Dom Solanke is currently the only out‑and‑out centre‑forward on Tottenham’s books; Richarlison has been omitted from the Premier League squad, while Oumar Marmoush and Savio are expected to add goals but have not yet opened their accounts.
Troy Parrott’s recent £17 million move to Real Betis after a successful spell in the Eredivisie mirrors the potential deal for Tresoldi, suggesting room for negotiation on the £43 million asking price.
