Tottenham eye Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup as De Zerbi option

Tottenham Hotspur are planning to move for talented Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup this summer, according to a recent print edition of A Bola. The 22‑year‑old Norwegian impressed in Portuguese football with ten goals and seven assists in 43 matches last season, and his contract runs until 2028.

Spurs are eager to secure the talented Norwegian after his impressive form on the left wing for Benfica. He scored ten times and provided seven assists in 43 appearances across all competitions, placing him among the best young wide players in Liga Portugal. This impressive record makes him a prime target for the club.

Schjelderup is praised for his dribbling ability and his capacity to make dangerous runs in wide areas. He also possesses vision to create promising chances and can shoot with power from long range, adding a goal threat from the flank.

Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi could benefit from the added quality and depth as the club aims to compete on multiple fronts. The winger’s versatility, able to play as a left‑winger or a left‑sided wide player, gives him a realistic chance to earn a regular starting spot in North London.

Given his contract runs until the summer of 2028, securing him now may prevent a higher price later. De Zerbi is therefore urged to move quickly to bring Schjelderup to Tottenham before the transfer window closes, as he could be a good option for the squad.
