Torino reopens talks on Cacciamani as Roma eyes the teenage winger

Torino are keen to reinforce a youthful midfield after a recent exodus, and have opened the door to Roma’s bid for 2007‑born winger Alessio Cacciamani, who just returned from a loan at Juve Stabia, with no fee disclosed as both clubs evaluate his future.

Torino president Urbano Cairo had recently issued comments that appeared to dampen any immediate transfer. Those remarks have now softened, allowing the clubs to reopen discussions on Cacciamani.

The winger spent the previous season on loan at Juve Stabia, returning to Torino with valuable experience. He is a favourite of Ignazio Abate, who coached him in Campania. Abate has expressed a desire to continue working with Cacciamani at Torino.

Technical director Gianluca Petrachi, formerly Roma’s sporting director, revived the dialogue during an interview at the fourth Sandro Criscitiello Memorial in Avellino. Petrachi called Cacciamani “a very interesting youth player” who must prove himself in Serie A. He also highlighted the market’s “absurd, insane prices” that clubs must consider.

Petrachi noted that Torino would like to retain the player but are aware of market pressures. He suggested that the softened stance could encourage Roma to submit a more attractive offer. Roma would aim to bring the teenager to the capital and provide manager Gasperini with a backup for Wesley on the left flank.

For Torino, keeping Cacciamani would bolster their young squad. The club is navigating a volatile transfer market, making the decision strategically significant.

For Roma, securing the winger would add depth to their attacking options. It also offers the possibility of securing a future Serie A talent.
