Torino lands Fortini on loan after Hull City interest reshapes deal

Report Niccolò Fortini has chosen Torino as his next destination, preferring the Italian club over Hull City and joining Fiorentina on loan with an option to buy. The decision was announced this evening, marking a new adventure for the 20‑year‑old left‑ or right‑back.

Torino pursued Fortini aggressively, and both clubs presented practically identical offers, allowing Fiorentina to leave the final choice to the player. Fortini showed no hesitation and selected Torino, indicating the club’s clear interest in securing his services.

Negotiations and change of formula

Negotiations had been ongoing for a couple of months with the Granata, who originally hoped to purchase the young Italian outright for circa €5m. When that proposal was rejected and Hull City showed interest, the parties agreed to alter the transfer formula, opting for a loan with an option to buy instead of an immediate purchase.

Financial terms and player profile

The total cost of the operation is expected to be around €8m plus €2m in add‑ons. Fiorentina will extend Fortini’s contract, which expires at the end of this season, before sending him on loan. Fortini, who turned 20 in February, is a product of the Viola youth academy and has represented Italy at various youth levels.

Both Torino and Hull City submitted offers that were practically identical, Sky Sport Italia and Fabrizio Romano. Fiorentina therefore left the decision up to Fortini, who ultimately chose Torino.

Fortini was seen battling for the ball with Adam Buksa during a Serie A match in FLORENCE, ITALY on DECEMBER 21, 2025, highlighting his experience in top‑flight competition. The loan move will see him join Torino for the upcoming season, with the option to make the transfer permanent depending on performance.
