Mourinho dismisses Mbappé bust‑up claims, confirms player fit for tomorrow’s match
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho put an end to the swirling rumours surrounding Kylian Mbappé on Tuesday, confirming that the French forward will be available for the club’s next La Liga fixture. The Special One clarified that Mbappé’s recent knee problem was diagnosed during an outpatient consultation and that the player has been cleared to play, quashing speculation that the striker could miss action.
Mourinho explained that the injury was identified shortly after the player’s return from the international break and that the medical team concluded there was no lingering issue. “He came here after the injury and was diagnosed,” the manager said, adding that the outpatient assessment left no doubt about his fitness.
The coach also took aim at the media frenzy that has surrounded the star’s off‑field activities, labeling it a “hunt for problems.” He dismissed the narrative that Mbappé’s alleged nightclub visit and a bicycle ride in Switzerland were signs of disciplinary trouble, describing the venue as a private Paris Fashion Week event and the bikes as mere transport around a hotel’s communal area.
Emphasising Real Madrid’s standards, Mourinho warned that any player who fails to “behave like a Real Madrid player 24 hours a day” will find themselves on the bench. “Mbappé will play tomorrow, and that’s because I’m sure he hasn’t let Real Madrid down,” he asserted, underscoring the striker’s commitment to the club.
The manager also rejected transfer rumours linking Mbappé with Liverpool, urging fans and journalists to focus on football rather than speculation. “Read between the lines and be fair and intelligent when reading stories of our star striker,” Mourinho urged Madridistas.
Real Madrid sit fourth in La Liga after seven games, trailing Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Real Betis. With two defeats already on their record, the club will be hoping Mbappé’s presence can help close the gap and restore momentum ahead of a crucial stretch of fixtures.
