The third goal came in Monday's match, part of the group stage of the UEFA Nations League 2026/27. Michael Kayode celebrated his strike with teammate Sandro Tonali in front of the Atatürk Spor Kompleksi Matli Stadyumu in Bursa, TURKEY, on 28 SEPTEMBER 2026, against Turkey, Türkiye.
Kayode, a former Fiorentina defender, arrived at Brentford during the January 2025 transfer window. He initially signed on loan, then was purchased outright at the end of the season, solidifying his role in the London club's defence.
In the Premier League, Kayode has found the net once in seven appearances for Brentford this season, demonstrating his ability to contribute also in attack.
Italy one step from relegation in the Nations League
The youngster has already made his mark at youth level with the Azzurri, scoring the decisive goal in the 2023 U19 European final against Portugal and collecting ten caps with the U21 national team before debuting with the senior side.
Kayode's future in the English market
Claudio Vigorelli, Kayode's agent, said: “It is the most important league in the world, with top‑level football. His move to the Premier League has helped him grow further, and I see him playing in the Premier League for many years.”

The extension until 2032 reflects the growing demand for young defenders in the Premier League, where clubs invest resources to secure talent with international experience. Kayode's case confirms the trend of valuing players who have already proven their worth in UEFA competitions, especially in the month of September.
